Parking Rates Go Up For Event Parking On Streets Around The Moda Center
Portland, OR – If you opt for street parking during your next visit to the Moda Center for a game or a concert, it will cost you more – a lot more.
Wednesday, Portland City Councilors unanimously passed an emergency ordinance that nearly doubles the price of event parking on many streets in the Eliot neighborhood from $4.50 to $8 dollars an hour, starting immediately.
The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) says the rate is being raised, to discourage eventgoers from filling residential blocks, leaving more parking for residents and businesses who have paid for parking permits.
PBOT says signs will indicate when event pricing is in effect for those metered spaces on streets north of Northeast Broadway to Tillamook Street.
