Janet Jackson’s Costume Designer Speaks Out About Justin Timberlake’s Upcoming Docuseries

Justin Timberlake has enlisted Janet Jackson to appear in a four-part “tell-all” giving his side of the story surrounding their scandalous Super Bowl Halftime show in 2004. It is set to air next month on Apple TV, but one person that is not happy about it is Jackson’s costume designer from that performance.

Wayne Scot Lukas says he was ‘dumbfounded’ JT was going to rehash the story again. Lukas says he hopes Timberlake comes clean that he was the one to coin the term ‘wardrobe malfunction’. Lukas claims the outfit worked as intended, but that Lukas’ mom and church group was watching to see his “big project”, only to think it was his faulty design to blame. They were looking for a big moment that would be memorable and talked about. “Britney [Spears], Madonna and Christina Aguilera kissed in front of Justin on MTV. So, Janet’s choreographer Gill said, ‘We have to do something bigger.’ That’s how this became that,” Lukas said.

Well, mission accomplished because THAT GOT TALKED ABOUT. A LOT. Lukas blames the fallout on the MTV producers for failing to cut to black after Timberlake tore the top and “left Janet out there hanging.”

Lukas was NOT asked to be a part of Timberlake’s docuseries.
