95 WIIL ROCK BREAKDOWN 11/04/2026….. Joey Belladonna…. Alexisonfire/Poison The Well…. Ozzfest….
ANTHRAX frontman Joey Belladonna sang the national anthem Monday night before the Seahawks and Bears game on Monday Night Football in Seattle. And apparently, not everybody was impressed. Social media lit up with people criticizing his performance, calling it everything from awful to one of the worst anthems they’ve ever heard. Personally, I thought he did a pretty damn good job. The guy’s been fronting one of the biggest bands in thrash metal for decades, and he’s performed the anthem at plenty of sporting events. He even says singing the anthem is more nerve-racking than playing in front of thousands of metal fans. Look, if you think you can do it better, by all means, step up to the microphone when they ask you. Otherwise, maybe give the guy a break. You can check out Joey’s performance for yourself over at 95WIILRock.com. Give it a listen and be the judge. I think he deserves a little more credit than he’s getting.
Alexisonfire and Poison the Well are teaming up for a co-headlining U.S. tour in 2027, with Touché Amoré opening the shows. The tour kicks off March 25 in Dallas and makes its way around the country, including a stop right here in Chicago at the Aragon Ballroom on April 10. Tickets go on sale Friday, November 6, with artist presales starting Wednesday. This is a pretty big pairing for fans of post-hardcore and metalcore, and it’s coming off a huge year for Alexisonfire, who celebrated the 20th anniversary of their album Crisis with two sold-out shows in Toronto. So, if you want to catch Alexisonfire and Poison the Well together, mark April 10 on the calendar. Tickets and the complete tour information are available at 95WIILRock.com.
And finally, it looks like Ozzfest is officially getting ready to make its comeback. The festival launched a countdown clock on its website and social media this morning, and it’s set to hit zero Thursday, November 5, at 10 a.m. Eastern. Sharon Osbourne has already confirmed plans to bring Ozzfest back in 2027, with festivals planned for both the U.S. and the U.K. The U.K. event is tentatively expected to take place at Villa Park in Birmingham, where Ozzy and Black Sabbath played their final show. No bands have been announced yet, but Sharon says she wants to bring in plenty of younger, up-and-coming artists, just like Ozzfest did back in the day. So, we’ll find out what’s happening when that clock runs out Thursday. Keep an eye on 95WIILRock.com for updates.
