Naked Man Arrested in Portland After Witnesses Say He Tried Kidnapping Young Girl
PORTLAND, OR – Portland Police say they did not have enough officers to respond to a naked man at Waterfront Park on Saturday because of an incident that put a seven-year-old girl in danger. 31-year-old Daniel Vasay is charged with attempted kidnapping and other crimes.
Officers didn’t initially respond to reports of the naked man trying to punch people at Waterfront Park. Portland Police say officers were tied up on another incident involving a gun.
But, within 10 minutes, a 9-1-1 caller reported the man tried to grab a girl, whose family was visiting from out of town.
Her parents and others punched the suspect, and one person sprayed him with an irritant, prompting him to release her. He let go and jumped in the river, where police found him.
