SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A former elementary school teacher in the Austin Independent School District is headed to prison for 200 months after his conviction for receipt and possession of child phonography.

Carl David Innmon, 51, will also serve 10 years of supervised release once he is released.

According to court documents, a digital forensic analysis of seized devices found Innmon had more than 16,000 files depicting child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on a laptop computer. A search of an external hard drive found 349,728 files depicting CSAM, and many of the images found involved prepubescent minors under 12 years old.

“This now-convicted pedophile was tasked with caring for the most vulnerable among us: our children,” said U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Texas Justin R. Simmons. “Instead, he used children to satisfy his deviant sexual desires.”

Innmon was a fifth-grade teacher at the time of his arrest in April 2025 and had previously worked as a substitute teacher at approximately 20 other schools within the district.
