Damian Lillard has been diagnosed with a torn achilles tendon in his left leg, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.

The Trail Blazers great and current Milwaukee Bucks guard went down in the first quarter of Milwaukee’s 129-104 loss in Game Four of their first-round playoff series against the Indiana Pacers. Milwaukee now trails the series 3-1 with Game Five in Indiana on Tuesday.

Lillard had just returned to game action after a dramatic recovery from deep vein thrombosis in his right leg, a situation that sidelined him the final 14 regular season games and first playoff game for the Bucks. Lillard averaged 24.9 points a game in 58 games played this season, his second in Milwaukee since being traded by Portland in September 2023.

Lillard’s status for next season is in serious doubt, as the soon-t0-be 35-year-old will recover from the most significant injury of his career.
