Loomis Joins with Nearly 20 Years of NBA Financial Experience

PORTLAND, Ore. (March 12, 2025)The Portland Trail Blazers have hired Joe Loomis as the organization’s next Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, it was announced today by Dewayne Hankins, President of Business Operations, Portland Trail Blazers & Rose Quarter. Loomis officially joins the organization on March 17.

As Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Loomis will oversee the financial operations of the team and arena, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and contract analysis. He will lead the organization’s financial departments while providing valuable negotiation and financial strategy insight to leadership across the company. Loomis joins the Trail Blazers after nine seasons with the San Antonio Spurs in various finance roles, closing out his time in Texas as the organization’s Senior Vice President of Finance, Technology and Culinary Operations. He brings nearly 20 years of NBA financial experience, with two years overseeing financial operations for the New York Knicks and more than eight years at the NBA league office in New York. During his time at the league office, he spent time as the Associate Vice President of Team Finance where he worked with all NBA teams on their league financial reporting and analysis.
