Deandre Ayton To Miss At Least Four Weeks With Calf Strain

Trail Blazers big man Deandre Ayton will be out at least four weeks after suffering a calf strain in Monday’s loss at Denver, the team announced Wednesday.
Ayton left in the third quarter and didn’t return. The following day he was already ruled out for the Wednesday contest in Denver, and Wednesday afternoon the team announced the results of an MRI that confirmed a strain to Ayton’s left calf and that he will be re-evaluated in four weeks.
The Blazers lost their third straight on Wednesday in Denver after a previous stretch of notching 11 wins in 12 games.
Portland is now 23-32 overall as they hit the All-Star break. That is thirteenth in the Western Conference standings, 4-1/2 games back of the final play-in spot held by 10-seed Golden State (27-27).
The Blazers return post ASG on Thurs. Feb. 20th to host Luka Doncic, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Ayton’s earliest potential return from the calf strain in four weeks time could theoretically project to the Wednesday March 12th home game against the New York Knicks, which starts a seven-game homestand.
