Trail Blazers Beat Bulls 113-102 To Snap 5-Game Losing Streak

Scoot Henderson had 25 points, Shaedon Sharpe came off the bench with 23 points, and the Trail Blazers got a win at home over the Chicago Bulls on Sunday 113-102 to end their five-game losing skid.
Conversely, Chicago dropped its fifth straight game.
Deni Avdija had 20 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals to help Portland’s cause. Jerami Grant had 18 points. Deandre Ayton had 15 points, 13 boards, 2 assists and 2 blocked shots.
Portland trailed 34-22 after the opening quarter but rallied in the second quarter to send the game to halftime tied at 53. The Blazers outscored the Bulls 34-24 in the third period and Chicago never truly threatened the lead in the fourth.
In a game that was statistically near-even in the box score, Portland did gain the total rebounding advantage 50-36 including a 14-8 offensive rebounding edge that helped them attempt eight more shots than the visitors.
Sharpe had a nice game off the bench after being told by head coach Chauncey Billups his defense needed to improve to return to the starting lineup.
Anfernee Simons did not play due to a right elbow strain. Portland was also playing the second night of a back-to-back following Saturday’s home loss to Houston.
The Blazers head east on a three-game road trip that begins Tuesday at Miami, followed by Thursday in Orlando and Friday in Charlotte before returning to Moda Center for high-profile home games against Oklahoma City and Damian Lillard’s Milwaukee Bucks to start a 7-game homestand.
Portland is 14-28 overall, the third-worst record in the West and seventh-worst in the NBA.
