The No. 1 Oregon Ducks will not get a rematch with Ohio State — at least not in the Big Ten Championship Game.
Penn State will face the Ducks for the first time as Big Ten competitors in Saturday’s conference title game at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The Nittany Lions earned their spot after Ohio State’s surprising upset loss to Michigan earlier Saturday followed by Penn State’s blowout victory over Maryland.
In the latest AP Poll, Oregon (12-0, 9-0 Big Ten) repeats at No. 1, while Penn State (11-1, 8-1 Big Ten) moves up to No. 3. The penultimate College Football Playoff rankings will be released on Tuesday.
Saturday’s winner will earn a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff and likely a trip to the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day for the CFP Quarterfinals.
Oregon has opened as a 3.5-point betting favorite against Penn State with a total at 49.5.
