Prediction: Oregon State Beavers vs Idaho State Bengals

Each week Steven Vaughan will predict the score of every Oregon State Beavers football game. This week the Beavers take on the Idaho State Bengals from Reser Stadium. The Beavers are -27.5 on Saturday.
There are a lot of question marks surrounding the Oregon State football program. This week one matchup against the Idaho State Bengals shouldn’t be close. Gevani McCoy was named starting quarterback for the Beavers, and I expect McCoy to have a big game. McCoy was dominant against competition like Idaho State when he played at Idaho. I think McCoy will play well. I also think the quarterback situation isn’t decided on a larger scale. I would expect Ben Gulbranson and Gabarri Johnson to see playing time on Saturday. Because of that, I don’t expect the Beavers offense to slow down. Those guys are still competing for playing time. Oregon State’s physicality on defense will be problematic for the Bengals who like to dink and dunk the ball around. This should be an easy win for the Beavers and I think the Beavers cover the point spread.
