Seattle Mariners Start The Season 2-2 After Splitting Opening Series With The A’s

Despite scoring 8 runs in 4 games, the Seattle Mariners split a four-game series with the A’s at T Mobile Park to begin their 2025 regular season.

The Mariners won the opening day affair 4-2 thanks to a pair of homers from Jorge Polanco and a homer from Randy Arozarena. The A’s took Friday’s game 7-0 and Saturday’s game 4-2, but the M’s took Sunday’s finale 2-1 to split the series, Julio Rodriguez providing the game-winning two-run home run in the sixth inning.

Next, the M’s host the Detroit Tigers for a three-game series at T Mobile Park beginning Monday night. The Tigers are 0-3 after being swept by the Dodgers in LA.

Emerson Hancock goes on the hill on Monday’s series opener before the rotation turns over to Logan Gilbert on Tuesday and Luis Castillo on Wednesday. The first off-day of the season comes Thursday before the M’s visit the Giants for a weekend series in San Francisco.
