Oregon men’s basketball tuns it attention to Selection Sunday and the upcoming NCAA Tournament following a 74-64 defeat to Michigan State on Friday in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals in Indianapolis.
The Ducks had won eight consecutive games, but as the No. 8-seed in the tournament, they faced the top-seed Spartans in the quarterfinals. Michigan State led 42-32 at halftime, and though Oregon made it a one-point game at 44-43 with 15:36 to go, MSU controlled the action down the stretch to move into the semifinals.
Oregon drops to 24-9 overall. They are projected to be a firm at-large selection in the men’s NCAA Tournament and await their seeding and location for the first round this Sunday.
