PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS HOST WOMEN’S HISTORY CELEBRATION ON MARCH 16

PORTLAND, Ore. (March 12, 2025) – Join the Portland Trail Blazers in celebrating Women’s History Month and the women of Rip City on Sunday, March 16, as the Blazers face off against the Toronto Raptors. The night is set to feature musical stylings and powerful anthem performances from women across Rip City and the Northwest, concourse activities and support for local nonprofit Women’s Foundation of Oregon through proceeds from the 5050 Raffle.
The Celebration’s Community Partner is Girls Inc. of The Pacific Northwest, the organization inspires all girls to be strong, smart and bold through direct service and advocacy. They partner with schools across Portland, Seattle and Southwest Washington to provide mentorship and programming to help girls overcome barriers and grow into confident leaders. Girls Inc. PNW will receive proceeds from the retail item of the night to support their mission of empowering the next generation.
To tip off the night, fans will be welcomed to music throughout the arena, featuring DJ Briana setting the vibe with funk and jazz at Dr. Jacks, DJ Ashé curating global sounds at Entry A25, and Rip City Remix’s very own DJ Lady X bringing infectious, high-energy mixes to the Pines on the 300-Level. Fans will notice the concourse lined with posters highlighting dynamic and iconic women in history, selected by the Trail Blazers’ Women of Rip City Employee Network. To commemorate the night, guests can step into the MemoryBox 360-photo booth for an interactive photo and video experience.
Fans can visit the 300-Level concourse to learn more about Girls Scouts Oregon & SW Washington as they strive to create courageous and confident young leaders dedicated to making the world a better place. At Entry C31, learn more about the organization taking part in halftime, Adaptive Sports Northwest.
Before tip off, Angela Nelson, Vice President of Equity and Partnerships for Travel Portland will step onto the court to sing the National Anthem, and US Navy veteran Kacie Richardson will follow to sing O Canada in honor of the visiting Toronto Raptors. The Trail Blazers are excited to welcome Adaptive Sports NW’s Pacific NW Reign Women’s Wheelchair basketball team for a halftime scrimmage. This nonprofit organization works to provide fitness, recreation and competitive sports to anyone with physical and visual disabilities. Fans won’t want to miss their exciting scrimmage on the Moda Center court.
Fans can stop by the PDX Chef Collective and get a taste of Kenyan cuisine from the featured woman-owned restaurant Spice of Africa. Kenyan-born chef Wambui Machua will feature signature dishes from her independently owned restaurant ranging from Nairobi Grilled Chicken to Kenyan Mango Salsa Salad.
Visit Rip City Clothing Co. at Entry A15 to shop the evening’s Rip City Made Collection, featuring a limited-edition t-shirt created in collaboration with Mimi’s Fresh Tees, a local brand dedicated to social justice and women’s empowerment. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Girls Inc. PNW.
