Oregon Ducks Drop To No. 7 Seed In Latest Bracketology From The Athletic

The good news for Ducks fans is despite Oregon’s recent skid, the team is still a relatively firm choice for the NCAA Tournament field.
That said, Dana Altman’s program is slipping in seeding position.
The Athletic’s Joe Rexrode came out with his latest bracketology on Tuesday ahead of Oregon’s final nine games of the regular season. The Ducks visit No. 24 Michigan on Wednesday and No. 9 Michigan State on Saturday.
Oregon has lost three in a row and four of its last five after Sunday’s home defeat to Nebraska. But the strength of the Big Ten, plus Oregon’s strong early-season victories, still have the Ducks in good position for the postseason.

Oregon, meanwhile, will always have one of the best wins of the season, against Alabama on a neutral court. The Texas A&M win is nice, too. But the Ducks are heading in the wrong direction with some velocity. Sunday’s home loss to Nebraska makes it four losses in five games, two to teams that aren’t in the field, one of them named Minnesota.
Rexrode has Oregon’s former Pac-12 rival Arizona replacing Oregon as a No. 5 seed in the bracketology with the Ducks slipping to a No. 7 seed.
In Rexrode’s mock bracket, the Ducks would be in the Midwest region and face 10-seed Georgia in the Milwaukee, Wisc. pod.
The Big Ten has a projected nine teams in the tournament field, per Rexrode. The SEC has 13. The Big 12 has eight.
Oregon visits No. 24 Michigan on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. on Big Ten Network.
