The Beavers could not make it two straight conference wins after Thursday night’s thrilling home upset over Gonzaga, losing Saturday night at University of San Francisco 81-70.
USF took the lead with 8:05 left in the first half and never looked back as Oregon State trailed the rest of the way.
Michael Rataj led the Beavs with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals. Damarco Minor added 12 points and 6 rebounds and Parsa Fallah had 9 points for the Beavs.
USF improves to 16-5 overall and 6-2 in the WCC, good enough for second place in the conference standings behind 6-0 St. Mary’s. The Beavs slip to 4-3 in conference play, sixth-best in the standings.
The Beavs (14-6 overall) return home to host Pepperdine on Thursday night at Gill Coliseum. Tip off set for 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+, followed by a Saturday afternoon home game with Santa Clara (3:00 p.m., ESPN+).
