Ducks Claim Another Big Road Win, 82-81 Over Penn State

The Oregon Ducks earned another big road win in conference play, edging Penn State 82-81 on Sunday afternoon.

The win improves the Ducks to 15-2 overall and 4-2 in Big Ten Conference play. They came back to win at Ohio State the prior Thursday, 73-71.

West Linn native Jackson Shelstad led the Ducks in scoring for the third straight game, and fourth game in the last five, with 17 points. His jumper with under a minute left in regulation gave Oregon an 80-78 lead after trailing 74-68 at the under-four timeout.

The Ducks led 41-34 at halftime before Penn State rallied in the second half. The Nittany Lions drop to 12-5 overall and 2-4 in conference play.

Oregon rose a couple spots to No. 13 in the latest AP Poll released Monday. They’re next in action Saturday afternoon at Matthew Knight Arena, hosting No. 17 Purdue. That game will be nationally televised on NBC with a 12:00 p.m. tip off.
