Anfernee Simons had 36 points and 9 assists but the Trail Blazers lost to the Detroit Pistons 118-115 on Monday. Cade Cunningham led the way for the Pistons with 32 points and 9 assists of his own.
The Blazers attempted just five free-throws in the game, making three, while Detroit went 19 of 22 from the stripe.
Portland opened the second quarter with a 17-0 run to take a 45-23 lead. But the Pistons responded to make it a 60-51 deficit at the half. The Blazers lead was just two points at 90-88 entering the fourth quarter.
The Blazers drop to 12-23 overall and 4-15 on the road. Their five-game road swing continues Wednesday in New Orleans and concludes Thursday in Dallas.
