No. 1 Oregon Ducks Surge Past Washington Huskies 49-21 To Reach 12-0

The Oregon Ducks are 12-0 for the second time in program history and the first time since 2010 with a 49-21 win Saturday night over rival Washington.
The Ducks will face Penn State in the Big Ten Championship Game on Saturday night in Indianapolis. Penn State earned the spot following Ohio State’s upset loss to Michigan earlier Saturday.
Quarterback Dillon Gabriel completed 16 of 23 pass attempts for 209 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. Running back Jordan James carried the ball 15 times for 99 yards and 2 touchdowns. Traeshon Holden led the way with 73 yards receiving on 4 catches, while Terrance Ferguson and Tez Johnson hauled in receiving touchdowns. Bryce Boettcher paced the Ducks defense with 11 total tackles with a sack and two tackles for loss.
The Ducks held just a 7-6 lead with 9:44 to go in the second quarter after a 41-yard field goal from UW’s Grady Gross. But Oregon needed just six offensive plays to score two touchdowns, with a forced fumble in between, to open up a 21-6 advantage that became 28-14 at the half.
Oregon scored three unanswered touchdowns in the second half to make it 49-14 before a late Huskies touchdown accounted for the final score.
Oregon is 12-0 and will repeat atop the College Football Playoff rankings on Tuesday this week before facing the Nittany Lions on Saturday night. The final CFP rankings will be revealed on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. to set the stage for the first 12-team edition of the College Football Playoff.
