Portland State Beats San Diego On The Road 85-76

The Portland State Vikings went on the road and beat the San Diego Toreros on Tuesday night 85-76 to improve to 2-1 overall on the season.

Jaylin Henderson, a senior transfer guard from Louisiana Tech, led the Vikings with 23 points.

PSU jumped out to a 51-33 lead at halftime and led by as many as 21 points in the game. San Diego rallied to cut the lead to just four points at 74-70 with 1:55 left, but free-throws from Henderson, Terri Miller Jr. and Qiant Myers closed out the win for the Viks.

Portland State committed 24 turnovers but forced 21 turnovers on defense while shooting 51.7% from the field and 47.1% from three-point range.

Next, the Viks head to the Midwest to take part in the Cream City Challenge with three games in three days beginning Friday against host UW-Milwaukee at 5:00 p.m. followed by games with University of St. Thomas on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and Wofford on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. All games are on ESPN +.
